The Mannerheim museum 70 years
November 3rd marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Mannerheim Museum. Gustaf Mannerheim himself may not have thought of preserving his home for posterity, but the Mannerheim Foundation, which he had established, made the decision to acquire the Marshal’s belongings and present them to the public already soon during the year 1951. At first, the idea was to organize a mere temporary exhibition. Over the years and decades, the museum's activities have been modernized and become more professional, following the spirit of the times.
To celebrate the anniversary the museum takes a look back and reflects on its history from various perspectives. Posts of the anniversary year are published on the museum's homepage and on social media platforms. They can be identified from this logo.
